The Kanken is made from Vinylon F fabric, which is water-resistant and durable. While it will protect your belongings during light rain or snow, it is not fully waterproof and should not be submerged in water.

The standard 16L Kanken is designed for everyday essentials and can typically accommodate a slim 13-inch laptop or tablet in the main compartment. However, it does not feature a dedicated padded laptop sleeve, so you may want to use a separate protective case.

To keep your bag in good condition, clean it using a soft brush and lukewarm water. Avoid machine washing or tumble drying, as these can damage the fabric and the bag's structure.

The seat pad is stored in a dedicated interior pocket against the back panel. It provides structural support for the bag while you are wearing it and can be easily removed to provide a clean, dry surface to sit on during outdoor breaks or commutes.

The Kanken features adjustable shoulder straps that allow for a customized fit. While the straps are simple and lightweight, they are effective for daily use, though they lack the heavy padding found on technical hiking backpacks.
