Yes, the bulb-shaped Ash wood handle is ergonomically designed to fit naturally in the palm. Its shape provides a secure, comfortable grip that reduces hand fatigue during repetitive tasks like potting or dividing perennials.

While the sharpened edges are excellent for cutting through roots and loose to medium-compacted soil, it is not a pry bar. We recommend using it for planting and transplanting rather than prying out large, deeply embedded rocks to avoid stressing the handle connection.

You can maintain the edge by using a fine-grit sharpening stone or a file periodically. Simply follow the existing bevel angle of the blade to keep it efficient for root cutting.
