Rain-Gel Water Absorbing Granules

Rain Gel is potassium-based, which is safer for your plants. Sodium-based crystals can build up salt levels in the soil over time, potentially harming sensitive roots, whereas potassium acts as a beneficial nutrient.

A little goes a long way. We recommend using just one teaspoon of granules for a standard 12-inch hanging basket to achieve optimal moisture retention without over-saturating the soil.

By forming a jelly-like reservoir that releases moisture directly to the roots, these granules typically allow you to extend your watering schedule to every 7 to 10 days, depending on your local climate and plant type.

While they are highly effective for hanging baskets and containers where soil dries out quickly, they can also be used in garden beds. Simply mix them thoroughly into the soil near the root zone during planting.

When applied correctly, the granules should be mixed into the soil rather than left on the surface. Once they absorb water and turn into a gel, they remain hidden beneath the soil line, providing moisture directly where the roots need it most.
