You can absolutely use them individually. While the stacking feature is great for saving counter space when cooling large batches, each of the three racks functions perfectly on its own for smaller baking projects.

No, they are not dishwasher safe. To prevent rusting and maintain the chrome finish, we recommend hand washing them with warm, soapy water and drying them thoroughly immediately after cleaning.

When stacked, each rack provides approximately 3 inches of clearance. This is generally enough height to accommodate standard cookies, brownies, or thin pastries, though it may be tight for taller items like cupcakes with high frosting.

These racks measure 9.75 x 13.75 inches. They are designed to sit on the counter rather than inside a standard half-sheet pan, which typically measures 13 x 18 inches. If you are looking for a rack to fit inside a pan for roasting or glazing, these may be too small.

The racks are designed to nest securely on top of one another to provide stability. While they don't feature a mechanical locking mechanism, the feet of the upper racks fit into the corners of the lower racks to prevent sliding during normal use.
