To keep the glass in perfect condition, avoid the dishwasher, as the high heat and harsh detergents can cause clouding or damage. Simply wash it by hand with warm water and mild dish soap, then dry it immediately with a soft cloth.

The purple hue is characteristic of certain types of Depression glass from that era, often caused by the presence of manganese in the glass formula reacting to sunlight over decades. This gives the piece its authentic, aged aesthetic.
