At 12 pounds, this urn is substantial enough for most garden settings. However, if you live in an area with extreme wind, you may want to place it in a sheltered spot or use a small amount of adhesive if mounting it to a pedestal.

Cast stone is naturally durable and weather-resistant, requiring very little maintenance. Over time, it may develop a natural patina, which many gardeners prefer, but you can simply rinse it with water and a soft brush if you wish to remove debris or moss.

The Townsend Urn is designed for outdoor use and can certainly hold plants. We recommend checking if your specific piece includes a drainage hole; if not, you can easily drill one or use a plastic liner to protect your plants' roots.
