Because the lantern is enclosed with glass panels, we recommend using a standard tea light or a small votive candle. For safety and ease of use, battery-operated LED candles are an excellent choice to achieve the same dancing light effect without the risk of an open flame.

The four integrated bells are functional and produce a soft, pleasant chime whenever the lantern is moved or brushed against. They are designed to add a subtle auditory element to your space rather than a loud or distracting noise.

The glass panels can be wiped down with a soft, dry microfiber cloth to remove dust. If the glass requires a deeper clean, use a small amount of glass cleaner on a cloth, being careful to avoid getting liquid on the hand-painted metal finish.

While the metal construction is durable, the lantern is primarily designed for indoor decorative use. If placed on a covered porch or patio, ensure it is protected from direct rain and high winds to preserve the hand-painted details and prevent the bells from chiming excessively.

The Mini or Small sizes are typically best for tabletop arrangements, as they provide a charming accent without obstructing conversation. If you are looking to create a focal point on a mantle or console table, the Medium or Large sizes offer a more substantial visual presence.
