Herman Miller Girard Throw

This throw is crafted from a blend of 82 percent virgin wool and 18 percent cotton. This combination provides the warmth and durability of wool while maintaining the softness and breathability of cotton.

Because of the high wool content, we recommend dry cleaning only to preserve the integrity of the fibers and the vibrancy of the colors. Avoid machine washing or tumble drying to prevent shrinking or damage to the geometric patterns.

The virgin wool provides a structured, cozy weight, while the cotton blend softens the overall hand-feel. It is designed to be breathable and wrinkle-resistant, making it comfortable for year-round use rather than just for deep winter.

The pattern was originally designed by Alexander Girard in the mid-1960s as part of a comprehensive brand identity system for Braniff International Airways. It is a classic example of Girard's signature geometric style and is currently produced in collaboration with Pendleton.

The Girard Throw is designed primarily as a decorative accent or a light layer for lounging. While it offers warmth, it is lighter than a standard comforter and is best suited for draping over a sofa or the foot of a bed.
