By combining a 14.2mm planar magnetic driver with a double-sided piezoelectric (PZT) driver, the Hook-X balances power and detail. The planar driver handles the rich, impactful bass, while the PZT driver adds high-frequency extension and clarity, resulting in a sound that is both punchy and highly detailed.

Yes. The Hook-X features a standard 0.78mm 2-pin connector, making it compatible with most aftermarket cables. It also includes an interchangeable cable system that supports 2.5mm, 3.5mm, and 4.4mm terminations, so you can easily switch between single-ended and balanced outputs.

Because of the open-back design, these monitors do not provide significant passive noise isolation. They are best suited for quiet environments like a home studio or office where you can fully appreciate the expansive soundstage without outside interference.

With an impedance of 15 Ohms and a sensitivity of 105dB, the Hook-X is relatively easy to drive. While they will work with most standard devices, using a dedicated DAC or amplifier will help you get the most out of the planar magnetic drivers and ensure optimal sonic resolution.
