The M7 capsule is a legendary design known for its natural, detailed sound reproduction. It is highly regarded for capturing audio with exceptional clarity and a smooth frequency response, making it a staple for professional recording environments.

The five patterns—Omni, Wide Cardioid, Cardioid, Hyper-Cardioid, and Figure 8—give you immense flexibility. You can isolate a single vocalist, capture a room's ambiance, or record duets and ensembles with precise control over what the microphone picks up.

A transformerless output design minimizes coloration and distortion, resulting in a cleaner, more transparent signal. This ensures that the audio captured is as close to the original source as possible, which is ideal for high-fidelity recording.

Use the 10 dB attenuator when recording very loud sound sources, like drums or guitar amps, to prevent clipping. The low-frequency roll-off is best engaged to clean up muddy recordings or to counteract the proximity effect when a vocalist is very close to the mic.

The UMT 800 requires standard 48V phantom power, which is provided by most professional audio interfaces, preamps, and mixing consoles. It connects via a standard 3-pin XLR cable, making it compatible with almost any professional studio setup.
