SOG Flash Multitool

The blade features a spring-assisted mechanism that engages once you start the opening motion. This allows you to deploy the knife quickly with one hand, which is significantly faster and more convenient than traditional manual-opening multitool blades.

SOG's Compound Leverage uses a gear-driven pivot system to multiply the force applied to the pliers. This design gives you twice the gripping and cutting power of standard pliers, making it much easier to cut wire or grip stubborn objects without straining your hand.

The magnetic bit holder is designed for convenience and quick swaps, holding standard bits firmly in place during typical light-to-medium duty tasks. While it is excellent for everyday repairs and adjustments, it is not intended for high-torque applications that require a dedicated screwdriver.

At 3.4 inches closed and weighing 4.7 ounces, it feels very similar to a standard folding knife in your pocket. It is compact enough for daily carry, though it is slightly thicker than a dedicated knife because it houses the pliers and additional tools.

The blade is crafted from CRYO D2 steel, which is a high-carbon tool steel that has been cryogenically heat-treated. This process improves the steel's wear resistance and edge retention, meaning it will stay sharp longer than standard stainless steels.

The Flash EDC is optimized for daily readiness and light-to-medium everyday tasks rather than heavy construction or industrial use. While the Compound Leverage makes the pliers surprisingly capable, its compact frame is best suited for quick fixes, package opening, and minor repairs.
