Katabatic Flex

The Katabatic system uses a unique cord-and-clip setup that secures the quilt to your sleeping pad. This creates a seal that prevents the quilt from shifting while you sleep, effectively eliminating the side gaps where cold air typically drafts in.

The Flex is designed for versatility. You can fully open the foot box to lay it flat like a blanket, and the continuous baffles allow you to shift the down insulation to the top or bottom depending on whether you need more warmth or better ventilation.

The Flex uses ExpeDRY treated down, which is specifically engineered to resist moisture and maintain its loft better than untreated down in humid or damp conditions. While it is water-resistant, it is still a down product, so you should avoid fully submerging it or exposing it to heavy, prolonged rain.

The Katabatic Flex is designed to accommodate users up to 78 inches, or 6'6", in height. If you are 6'4", you should have sufficient length to cover your head without feeling cramped.

The Flex features an integrated down-filled collar that wraps around your neck and shoulders to seal in heat. Most users pair this with a warm beanie or a hooded down jacket if they are expecting temperatures near the 22-degree rating.

Pertex Quantum ECO is an industry standard for ultralight gear because it balances weight savings with surprising durability. It is tough enough for standard backpacking use, though you should avoid sharp rocks or thorns to prevent snags, as is standard with any lightweight technical fabric.
