Vertical baffles are designed to keep the down insulation from shifting over time. By running the baffles lengthwise, the down stays distributed evenly across your body, preventing cold spots that can occur when insulation migrates to the sides.

No, it is water-resistant, not waterproof. The treatment helps the shell shed light moisture and condensation, but it will not protect the down if the quilt is submerged or exposed to heavy, sustained rain. Always use the included dry bag to keep it protected inside your pack.

The quilt has a maximum user height of 78 inches, or 6'6". If you are 6'4", you should have sufficient length to cover your shoulders comfortably without the quilt pulling tight at the foot box.
