Yes, the Mandible is widely considered the gold standard for bottle retention. Its wrap-around design provides an exceptionally tight grip that prevents bottles from ejecting even on washboard gravel or technical descents.

The Mandible weighs 28 grams. While there are lighter cages on the market, this weight is highly competitive for a carbon cage that offers this level of structural integrity and retention strength.

Because the Mandible uses a very secure, high-tension grip, it can cause minor cosmetic scuffing on plastic water bottles over time. If you use premium, soft-plastic bottles, you may notice marks sooner than with a looser-fitting cage.
