This tool is designed for 54mm baskets, such as those found on Breville machines. For the best fit, measure the inner diameter of your portafilter basket; if it is approximately 53.5mm to 54mm, this distributor will provide the necessary coverage for even leveling.

No tools are required. You can simply rotate the top walnut lid to loosen the locking mechanism, adjust the depth of the stainless steel base to match your specific dose, and tighten it back down to lock in your preferred setting.

Channeling often occurs when coffee grounds are unevenly distributed, creating paths of least resistance for water. By using this tool to create a perfectly flat, uniform bed of coffee, you ensure water flows evenly through the puck, resulting in a more balanced extraction.

While the 304 stainless steel base is fully washable, the walnut wood lid should be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Avoid submerging the wooden component in water or using harsh detergents to preserve the finish and prevent the wood from warping.

The weight of the tool—ranging from 425g to 505g—provides a stable, premium feel that helps the distributor sit firmly on the coffee bed. A heavier tool requires less downward pressure from your hand to achieve a consistent, level surface.
