TianBonsai Root Pruning Scissors

These scissors are designed with a butterfly handle that provides extra leverage, allowing you to cut through tough, dense root structures without crushing the surrounding tissue. The high-frequency quenched edge also ensures the blades remain sharp enough to make clean cuts, which is critical for preventing root rot and encouraging healthy regrowth.

While they are engineered for root work, they are perfectly capable of handling wet branches up to 6mm in diameter. However, because root soil can be abrasive, you should clean and oil the blades thoroughly after using them in the ground to maintain their edge.

5Cr15MoV is a high-quality alloy steel known for its excellent balance of hardness and corrosion resistance. With a hardness rating of 60 HRC, these blades hold a sharp edge significantly longer than standard carbon steel tools, provided you keep them clean and dry between uses.

Thanks to the precision-ground, high-frequency quenched edges, these scissors maintain their sharpness quite well under normal bonsai maintenance conditions. You will only need to touch them up occasionally with a sharpening stone if you notice the cuts becoming less clean or requiring more force.

These scissors are rated for a cutting capacity of 6mm. Attempting to cut material thicker than this can stress the pivot point and potentially damage the alignment of the blades.
