NRS Explorer Dry Suit

A semi-dry suit uses a neoprene neck seal rather than a latex gasket, which is more comfortable but allows a small amount of water to seep in during full submersion. It is designed for paddlers who want protection from splashes and spray without the restrictive, airtight feel of a full dry suit.

This suit is best for cool, moderate conditions rather than extreme winter temperatures. Because it is a semi-dry design, it is not intended for prolonged immersion in freezing water, where a full dry suit with a latex neck gasket would be safer.

The GlideSkin neoprene seal provides a much more comfortable, less restrictive fit than traditional latex gaskets, which can feel tight or cause skin irritation. It creates a reliable seal against water entry while allowing for easier movement and breathability during long days on the water.

While it is durable enough for moderate river environments, the semi-dry design means it is not fully waterproof if you capsize or swim. It is better suited for flat-water excursions, touring, or recreational paddling where the risk of full submersion is low.

The integrated fabric socks are made from the same waterproof material as the suit, allowing you to wear your own thermal socks underneath for warmth. They keep your feet dry inside your paddling shoes and prevent water from entering through the leg openings.

We recommend layering with synthetic or wool base layers to manage moisture and provide insulation. Avoid cotton, as it stays wet and cold against your skin if any moisture does get inside the suit.
