While it is optimized for wheelie-specific performance, the Merritt Option is a versatile street tire. The smooth center line makes it fast and efficient for cruising, while the connected side blocks provide the grip you need for sharp turns and technical maneuvers.

The tread is thinned specifically to reduce rotational mass, which makes the bike feel more nimble during tricks. While it is lighter than a standard heavy-duty tire, the specialized sidewall compound is reinforced to handle the abuse of aggressive street riding and impact.

This tire is designed for 26-inch wheels with a width of 63.5 mm. Before purchasing, ensure your frame and fork have enough clearance for a tire of this width, as it is wider than a typical cross-country mountain bike tire.

Swerve wall technology uses a specialized compound in the sidewall to prevent tearing during aggressive maneuvers. It allows you to lean the bike hard into turns or perform technical tricks without worrying about sidewall failure.

Like most street-specific tires with a smooth center, it is designed primarily for dry conditions. While it offers excellent rolling efficiency on pavement, you should exercise caution in wet or loose conditions as it lacks deep tread channels for water evacuation.
