While it features a fast-rolling tread design that performs well on pavement, it is optimized for mixed-surface riding. If you spend 90% of your time on smooth asphalt, you might prefer a dedicated road tire, but it is an excellent choice for connecting paved sections to gravel routes.

This tire is designed to be run without an inner tube when paired with a compatible rim and sealant. This setup allows you to run lower tire pressures for better traction and comfort, while significantly reducing the risk of pinch flats.

The Crosscut AT 2 is a 29-inch tire with a 38mm width, which is a standard size for gravel and adventure bikes. Before purchasing, ensure your bike frame and fork have sufficient clearance for a 38mm width, as it may be too narrow for some modern mountain bike rims or too wide for older road frames.

The 60 TPI (Threads Per Inch) casing strikes a balance between durability and suppleness. It is robust enough to handle rough gravel and debris while remaining flexible enough to conform to the ground, providing better control and a smoother ride than lower-thread-count tires.

This model features a wire bead. While wire bead tires are generally heavier and less compact than folding tires, they are highly durable and provide a secure, reliable fit on the rim.
