Because it is only 0.75 inches thick, it offers firm support rather than plush cushioning. While some side sleepers find the dual-density foam sufficient, many prefer to pair it with an inflatable pad for extra loft or use it as a durable base layer.

With an R-value of 2.0, this pad is designed for three-season use. It is generally not warm enough on its own for freezing winter temperatures, but it works exceptionally well as a base layer underneath an inflatable pad to add insulation and protect against punctures.
