Nitto B617 Promenade Handlebar

The Nitto B617 requires a stem with a 25.4 mm clamp diameter, which is the standard size for many city, hybrid, and vintage bikes. If your current stem is 31.8 mm, you will need to replace the stem or use a shim to make it compatible.

The sweep pulls the grips closer to your body, which naturally encourages a more upright, relaxed posture. This takes significant weight off your wrists and shoulders compared to flat or drop bars, making it ideal for casual cruising and city commuting.

While it is durable enough for light gravel paths or casual trail riding, it is not designed for technical mountain biking. The swept-back shape is optimized for comfort and control on pavement rather than the aggressive handling required for steep, technical terrain.

The bar is 450 mm wide. While it is technically possible to trim the ends, the shape is specifically engineered for this width to provide the correct leverage and hand position, so we generally recommend using it as-is.

Nitto is known for high-quality aluminum work that balances stiffness with vibration damping. While it is not as compliant as steel, it is lightweight and sturdy, providing a responsive feel that is comfortable for daily riding.
