The gearing mechanism multiplies your hand strength by nearly three times. This allows you to cut through thicker, tougher branches with significantly less physical effort than you would use with a standard single-pivot tool.

This pruner is designed to handle branches up to 1.25 inches in diameter. Attempting to cut material larger than this can damage the blade or the gearing mechanism.

The pruner is built with a lightweight construction to minimize strain, and the integrated shock-absorbing design helps eliminate the jarring impact often felt at the end of a cut. It is designed to be comfortable for extended use.

While it will cut them, it is not the ideal tool. Because it is an anvil-style pruner, it can crush delicate, green stems rather than slicing through them cleanly. It is best reserved for woody, dead branches.
