The wraps rely on the warmth of your hands to become pliable. Simply place the wrap over your bowl or food item, press firmly around the edges with your palms for a few seconds, and the warmth will soften the wax to create a secure, airtight seal.

It is generally recommended to avoid using beeswax wraps directly on raw meat or fish. Because the wraps must be washed in cool water to preserve the wax coating, you cannot use the hot water necessary to properly sanitize surfaces that have come into contact with raw proteins.

Wash them by hand using cool water and a mild, eco-friendly dish soap. Avoid hot water, dishwashers, and microwaves, as high heat will melt the beeswax coating and ruin the wrap's ability to seal.

With proper care, these wraps typically last about a year. If they lose their tackiness before then, you can often refresh them by placing them on a baking sheet in a very low-temperature oven for a few minutes to redistribute the wax, or by applying a beeswax refresher bar.

Yes. Because they are made from natural cotton, beeswax, pine resin, and coconut oil, the wraps are fully biodegradable. Once they reach the end of their lifespan, you can cut them into strips and add them to your home compost bin.
