While down is generally more compressible, the Azura uses FeatherCore construction to mimic the loft and pack size of down while retaining the moisture-resistant benefits of synthetic insulation. It packs down significantly smaller than traditional synthetic bags, making it a great middle-ground for ultralight backpacking.

Thermo Gills are zippered vents located on the chest area of the bag. They allow you to dump excess body heat without unzipping the main zipper, which prevents cold drafts from entering the bag and keeps your core temperature stable.

The bag is designed to accommodate users up to 6 feet tall. If you are right at the 6-foot mark, you may find the fit snug, which is intentional for thermal efficiency, but you might prefer a slightly longer bag if you prefer extra room to move your feet.

The 35-degree rating is the lower limit for comfort, meaning you will likely feel cold if the temperature drops below that point. If you plan to camp in colder conditions, you would need to supplement this bag with a thermal liner or additional clothing layers.

Synthetic insulation is superior to down when it comes to moisture management. If you are backpacking in damp, humid, or rainy environments, the Azura will retain its insulating properties even if it gets wet, whereas down can lose its loft and warmth when damp.
