Onions require a dark, well-ventilated environment to prevent sprouting and softening. This bag uses a light-blocking burlap exterior to keep out sunlight and a moisture-wicking nettle cotton lining to absorb excess humidity, creating the ideal conditions for long-term storage.

While designed specifically for onions, the breathable materials make it suitable for other root vegetables like garlic or shallots. However, you should avoid storing potatoes and onions together, as the gases released by onions can cause potatoes to sprout prematurely.

Because of the natural burlap construction, we recommend spot cleaning with a damp cloth rather than machine washing. If the bag becomes heavily soiled, you can hand wash it gently in cold water and air dry it completely to prevent mold growth.

The bag measures 9.5 inches by 10.25 inches, which comfortably holds about 3 to 5 pounds of medium-sized onions. It is sized perfectly for standard kitchen pantry staples without taking up excessive counter space.

The side zipper is designed for a 'first-in, first-out' rotation system. By pulling onions from the bottom, you ensure you are using the oldest produce first, which helps minimize waste and keeps your supply fresh.
