The Palermo Salt Keeper is crafted from natural, high-density Italian olive wood. While it arrives ready for use, we recommend occasionally rubbing it with a food-safe mineral oil or beeswax to maintain the wood's luster and prevent it from drying out over time.

To preserve the integrity of the olive wood, hand wash it with mild soap and warm water, then dry it immediately with a soft cloth. Never submerge it in water or place it in the dishwasher, as the wood can warp or crack.

The lid is designed to rest securely on top for easy access while cooking, but it is not an airtight seal. It is best suited for dry environments and spices that do not clump easily when exposed to air.
