Unlike active noise cancellation, which uses microphones and electronics to block or invert sound, the AM Pro X30 uses a passive design. It allows a controlled amount of ambient sound to enter the ear canal naturally, so you can hear your bandmates and the audience without needing to remove your monitors.

While they are engineered specifically for live performance and studio monitoring, their balanced, three-driver sound signature is excellent for critical listening. However, keep in mind that the ambient design means they will not isolate you from outside noise as effectively as standard closed-back in-ear monitors.

With an impedance of 56 ohms and high sensitivity, these monitors are efficient enough to be driven by most professional audio interfaces, mixers, and even high-quality portable devices. You generally won't need a dedicated amplifier to get them to a sufficient volume.
