This is a dedicated four-season shelter. It is specifically engineered with a robust central-support frame and Easton Syclone poles to withstand heavy snow loads and high winds that would collapse standard three-season tents.

MSR designed this tent with color-coded pole clips to make setup as intuitive as possible. While setting up any tent in a storm is challenging, the color-coding significantly reduces the time and frustration involved when you are wearing gloves or dealing with low visibility.

Yes, the interior is spacious enough for two people wearing winter layers, and the large hooped vestibule is specifically designed to harbor bulky gear. The vestibule also features snow flaps to keep your equipment protected from spindrift.

Condensation is a common challenge in four-season tents, but this model includes integrated rainfly vents to promote airflow. While no tent is immune to condensation in freezing temperatures, these vents are strategically placed to help manage moisture buildup.

The floor is constructed from 40D ripstop nylon with a 10,000mm waterproof rating, which is quite robust. However, because this tent is intended for harsh alpine environments where you might be pitching on ice or jagged rock, using a footprint is highly recommended to extend the life of the floor fabric.

The minimum weight is 7.29 lbs, which is standard for a heavy-duty mountaineering shelter of this caliber. It packs down to 20 x 7 inches, making it manageable to strap to the outside of a climbing pack or stow inside for long expeditions.
