While many kitchen shears can withstand the dishwasher, we recommend hand washing these blades to maintain their sharpness and prevent corrosion over time. A quick rinse and dry immediately after use is the best way to keep them in top condition.

The Arch Studio shears are designed as a fixed-pivot set, meaning they do not separate into two individual blades. This construction offers a sturdy, reliable feel for heavy-duty tasks like trimming poultry or cutting through packaging.

These shears are excellent for trimming herbs, opening food packaging, and cutting through raw meat or poultry skin. However, they are not designed for heavy-duty bone cutting, which requires a specialized poultry shear or a cleaver.

Having two pairs allows you to keep one designated for food preparation and another for utility tasks like opening packages or cutting parchment paper. This prevents cross-contamination and ensures you always have a sharp blade ready for cooking.

Like most kitchen shears, these will eventually dull with regular use. You can maintain their edge at home using a standard kitchen shear sharpener or a honing rod, though professional sharpening is an option if the blades become significantly nicked or worn.
