The Sill Fignominal Fig

While it is a dwarf variety that works well in containers, it is technically an outdoor plant. It requires full to partial sun and a dormant period, so it will thrive best on a patio, balcony, or in a garden rather than inside your living room.

The Fignomenal Fig is compact, reaching a mature height of about 28 inches and a width of up to 5 feet. Its moderate growth rate makes it manageable for smaller gardens or large patio containers.

This is a low-maintenance variety that primarily needs well-drained soil and consistent, moderate watering. As long as it receives adequate sunlight, it will produce fruit from June through September with very little intervention.

This variety is hardy down to 10°F and is suitable for USDA Zones 5-10. If you live in an area with harsher winters, you should plan to move the container to a protected area or indoors during the coldest months.

The most important factor is drainage; ensure your container has drainage holes and use a high-quality, well-draining potting mix. While it doesn't require heavy fertilization, a balanced, slow-release fertilizer applied in early spring can support healthy fruit production.
