Yes. The Advanced-Grade Composite frame is engineered specifically to dampen road vibrations before they reach your body. You will notice less road buzz on rougher tarmac compared to a standard aluminum frame, which keeps you fresher over long distances.

It is very capable. The frame geometry is designed for stability, and the clearance for wider tires allows you to run lower pressures for better traction and comfort. It handles chip-seal roads and broken pavement with predictable control rather than feeling twitchy.

Hydraulic disc brakes are the industry standard for a reason: they offer superior stopping power and modulation in all weather conditions with very little hand effort. While they require a specific bleeding process for maintenance, they are highly reliable and generally require less frequent adjustment than mechanical rim brakes.

While the Defy is efficient and fast, it prioritizes comfort and stability over the aggressive, aerodynamic position of a dedicated race bike. If your primary goal is criterium racing or sprinting, you might prefer a more aggressive geometry, but for endurance racing or fast group rides, it is more than capable.
