This syphon is compatible with alcohol burners, butane burners, or halogen heaters. It is designed for these specific heat sources rather than standard kitchen stovetops.

The Technica includes a permanent cloth filter assembly, so you do not need to purchase disposable paper filters. You will, however, need to clean and maintain the cloth filter properly after each use to ensure the best flavor.

The carafe is made from durable borosilicate heatproof glass, but like any glass brewing equipment, it requires careful handling. Hario is a well-established brand, and replacement upper and lower bowls are generally available through specialty coffee retailers if an accident occurs.

The 600ml capacity is rated for approximately 8 cups, though this refers to the smaller, traditional Japanese coffee cup size (about 75ml each). In practical terms, it comfortably brews enough for two to three standard mugs of coffee.
