PRO PLT Compact Alloy Road Handlebar

A compact shape features a shallower drop and shorter reach compared to traditional bars. This reduces the distance your hands have to travel when moving from the tops to the drops, making it easier to stay in a lower, more aerodynamic position for longer periods without straining your back or shoulders.

This handlebar uses a standard 31.8mm clamp diameter, which is the industry standard for almost all modern road bike stems. As long as your current stem is designed for 31.8mm bars, this will be a direct fit.

AL-2014 is a high-strength aluminum alloy that allows for a double-butted design, meaning the walls are thinner in low-stress areas to save weight and thicker in high-stress areas for durability. It provides a stiff, reliable platform for steering and handling without the harsh ride quality often associated with cheaper, single-gauge aluminum bars.

A good rule of thumb is to match the width of the handlebars to the width of your shoulders, measured from the bony protrusions at the top of your shoulders (the acromion joints). If you prefer more stability and leverage, some riders opt for a slightly wider bar, while those prioritizing aerodynamics often choose a narrower width.

While designed primarily for road cycling, the durable aluminum construction makes it a capable choice for light gravel or all-road riding. However, it lacks the flared drops found on dedicated gravel bars, which provide extra stability and control on loose, technical terrain.
