If you notice oil weeping around the stanchions, increased friction, or a gritty feeling when compressing the fork, it is time for a service. These symptoms indicate that your current seals are no longer effectively keeping debris out or oil in.

This kit is specifically designed for the XC30, 30 Gold, 30 Silver, and Paragon models. It will not fit RockShox forks with different stanchion diameters, such as the 32mm or 35mm series.

While you can perform the service with basic shop tools, a seal driver tool sized for 30mm stanchions is highly recommended. Using the correct driver ensures the seals are seated evenly without damaging the rubber or the fork lowers.

Yes, you should always replace the foam rings when installing new dust seals. The foam rings are designed to hold suspension fluid to lubricate the stanchions, and they lose their effectiveness and absorb contaminants over time.

RockShox generally recommends a lower leg service every 50 hours of riding. If you ride in particularly muddy, dusty, or wet conditions, you may need to perform this maintenance more frequently to prevent premature wear on your bushings.
