RockShox Dust Seal & Foam Ring Kit

RockShox recommends performing a lower leg service, which includes replacing these seals and rings, every 50 hours of ride time. If you ride in particularly muddy or dusty conditions, you may need to service them more frequently to keep your suspension running smoothly.

These kits are model-specific, so you must match the kit to your fork's stanchion diameter and model year. Check your fork's serial number or model name against the manufacturer's compatibility chart before purchasing to ensure a proper fit.

While you can perform the installation with basic shop tools, using a dedicated seal driver tool is highly recommended. It ensures the seals are seated evenly without damaging the delicate rubber edges or the fork lowers.

Foam rings act as a reservoir for suspension oil, keeping the stanchions lubricated as they move through the seals. Over time, they collect dirt and lose their ability to hold oil, so replacing them ensures your fork remains properly lubricated and sensitive to small bumps.

It is best practice to replace them every time you open the lowers. Foam rings are inexpensive, and once they are removed, they rarely retain their original shape or ability to hold lubrication effectively.
