Ao-mishima is a decorative technique where stamped patterns are inlaid with colored slip. In this specific piece, the artist uses a distinctive blue slip to fill the floral stamps, creating a striking contrast against the matte black glaze.

While it is a beautiful example of Kiyomizu-yaki craftsmanship, it is designed for daily use. The ceramic is durable enough for regular tea rituals, though we recommend hand-washing to preserve the delicate hand-painted details.
