The warmth of your hands is the secret. Simply wrap the material around your container or food item and hold it in place for a few seconds; the heat from your palms softens the beeswax, allowing it to mold and seal securely.

It is best to avoid using beeswax wraps directly on raw meat or fish. Because the wraps require cool water for cleaning, you cannot sanitize them with the high heat necessary to safely remove bacteria from raw proteins.

Wash the wrap in cool water using a mild, eco-friendly soap. Avoid hot water, as it will melt the wax coating, and let it air dry completely before folding it for storage.

Use a sharp pair of fabric scissors to cut the roll. Since the edges are raw, you can trim them to any shape or size you need without worrying about fraying, as the wax coating helps keep the cotton fibers intact.

With proper care, the wrap is designed to last for up to 150 washes, which typically translates to one to two years of regular use. Over time, the wax coating may naturally wear down, but you can often refresh it with a DIY wax bar if you want to extend its life further.

You may notice a slight, pleasant scent of beeswax or resin initially, but it will not transfer to your food. It does not leave a sticky residue on dishes, as the wax is designed to stay on the cotton fabric.
