Hunter Fan Standard Downrod

This downrod is specifically engineered for compatibility with Hunter and Casablanca ceiling fans. It is not designed for use with other brands or the Hunter Original series.

A 60-inch downrod is ideal for high ceilings, typically 12 feet or taller. Positioning the fan at the correct height ensures optimal air circulation and prevents the fan from being too far from the living space to be effective.

The downrod itself is the extension component. While it features precision-tapered threads for a secure connection, you should retain the mounting hardware and canopy components that came with your original ceiling fan for the installation.

The precision-tapered threads create a tighter, more secure fit between the downrod and the fan motor housing. This design significantly reduces the risk of wobbling or loosening over time, ensuring a stable and quiet operation.

While it is technically possible to cut a metal downrod, we do not recommend it. Cutting the rod can compromise the integrity of the threads and the safety of the installation; it is best to purchase the specific length required for your ceiling height.
