Marble is naturally cool and heavy, which helps keep butter-based doughs like puff pastry or pie crust from melting while you work. The weight of the stone also does much of the flattening work for you, requiring less physical effort than a lighter wooden pin.

While marble is naturally smoother and less porous than wood, it is not a synthetic non-stick coating. You will still need to lightly flour your surface and the pin to prevent sticking, especially with very high-hydration doughs.

The handle-free design gives you more direct contact with the dough, allowing you to better feel its consistency and thickness as you roll. It also offers more maneuverability, making it easier to pivot and apply even pressure across the entire length of the pin.

This rolling pin is not dishwasher safe. Simply hand wash it with warm water and mild soap, then dry it thoroughly immediately after cleaning to prevent water spots or damage to the stone.

Marble is a porous natural stone, so it can absorb oils or pigments if left in contact with dark or highly pigmented ingredients for extended periods. It is best to wipe it clean promptly after use to maintain its appearance.
